In the past, master cheesemakers usually named their finest creations after their regions. As a mark of recognition, we are pleased to renew this proud tradition, which places the name of Le Lotbinière alongside Brie, Jalzberg, Emmenthal, Oka, and Camembert.
Le Lotbinière is an interior-ripened cheese easily recognizable by its shiny holes and mildly sweet aroma. It goes great with salty snacks and cold beer and is perfect for making sauces, fondue, and raclette. Serve it as a second course in a cheese tasting.
Naturally it goes great with full-bodied beers, robust white wines such as Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, and light red wines such as Beaujolais, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Mâcon Supérieur, Valpolicella, Gamay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.
The result of the work of proud, conscientious cheesemakers, Le Lotbinière has earned numerous distinctions, notably at the Canadian Cheese Grand Prix.Fat content: 28%
